The Government Accountability Project of Asheville (GAPavl) is powered entirely by community support. Your donation allows us to shine a light on local government decisions, elevate marginalized voices, and push for policies that promote racial and social justice. In the past five years, we’ve had real influence: we’re taken seriously by leaders in both the City and County governments, are regularly cited by the media in their coverage of important issues, and serve as a conduit for essential community feedback on key decisions. At a time when many community voices are left out of decision-making, GAP ensures they are heard. Compensating Community Leadership

Donations allow us to fairly compensate our Strategy Team of local Black community members for their time, energy, and expertise that guide our work.

We are working with the City of Asheville to develop a groundbreaking anti-displacement analysis tool — ensuring future decisions protect vulnerable communities.
